S A N P E D R O , L O S A N G E L E S A N D S A L T L A K E R A ILR O A D C O M P A N Y W. H. BANCROFT, First Vice-President OFFICE OF FIRST VICE-PRESIDENT Salt Lake City, December 4th, 1908. Los Angeles, California. Dear Sir:- Referring to Mr.Wells' joint letter November 28th sending you correspondence concerning proposition of establishing townsite at Otis, and replying to your letter to me November 30th, Rile 1157, I am Inclined to think that it would be a good plan to plat all or a part of the sixty acres, shown on the small print attached, into town lots as suggested by Mr.Waters. I have no idea how many lots could be disposed of at Otis now or during the next two or three years, but it does not seem to me that 450 lots would be required at this time or in the near future. I note that Mr.Waters suggests that these lots be made 25 feet in width. I think this entirely too small for residence lots in a place like Otis, and believe they should be made at least 40 or.50 feet in width, thereby giving sufficient room for a dwelling and an attractive yard, which would undoubtedly result at this place in the event of water being secured later on, as will no doubt be the case. I have to suggest also that in platting this property it be done from a railroad standpoint rather than from a real e state point of view; that is to say, streets should be provided along the boundaries of that part reserved for railroad purposes to the end Proposed townsite at Otis: Mr. J. Ross Clark, Second Vice-President.
