KENNEDY, City Manager, R. F. BOOS, Administrative Assistant, and HOWARD W. CANNON, City Attorney of the City of Las Vegas. You and each of you will please take notice that pursuant to a call this day issued by Mayor Baker, a special meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada, will be held in the Mayor's Office of the City Hall, 5th and Stewart, on the 23rd day of July, 1957, at the hour of 4:00 P.M., to consider the following matters: 1. "A" Street Paving 2. Gravel Hauling 3. Licensing in homes 4. Rezoning Ordinance 5. Use of Fire Truck by AEC 6. New Sewage Treatment Plant Change Order 7. Licensing of Pin Ball machines 8. Purchase of Ready-mix trucks. s/ Shirley Lodwick City Clerk ACCEPTANCE OF NOTICE We, the undersigned Mayor, Commissioners, City Manager, Administrative Assistant and City Attorney of the City of Las Vegas do hereby admit due service of the foregoing notice of special meeting. s/ C. Sharp Las Vegas, Nevada July 23, 1957 (CALL OF SPECIAL MEETING) A special meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada held this 23rd day of July, 1957, was called to order at the hour of 4:00 P.M., by His Honor Mayor Baker with the following members present: Maybr C. D. Baker Commissioner Wendell Bunker Commissioner E. W. Fountain Commissioner Harris P. Sharp City Manager A. H. Kennedy Adm. Assistant Robert P. Boos Field Engineer Kenneth Hansen Street Supt. Richard Sauer City Clerk Shirley Lodwick Absent: Commissioner Reed Whipple City Attorney Howard W. Cannon City Manager Kennedy reported that a request had been received from the Civilian Defense for permission to use one of the City's Fire Trucks for the purpose of testing the possibility of using this type of equipment for decontamination in connection with atomic bombs. Mr. Kennedy explained that the testing will be done at the Atomic Energy Commission's Nevada Test Bite, and the crew for the truck will be composed of the Fire Chiefs of San Diego, San Bernardino, Los Angeles County, with Fire Chief Elmer Gates driver of the truck. The Manager also advised the Commission that an insurance policy would be filed with the City to cover this equipment during the period it is on loan by the City, and that the truck would be needed sometime after the 7th of August, 1957. Mr. Kennedy recommended this re­quest be granted, subject to clearance from the City Attorney as to the legality of loaning the equipment. Commissioner Fountain moved this recommendation be accepted and the request of the Civilian Defense for the loan of a fire truck from the City be approved, subject to clearance by the City Attorney. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commis­sioners Bunker, Fountain, Sharp and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Whipple.
