I agree.January 28, 19^8 W 16->1 Mr. J. M. Murphy City Manager Las Vegas, Nevada Dear Mr, Murphys May X offer & suggestion about fire-hydrants? Understand the 01ty has been out of new hydrants for several months and it is rather indefinite as to when a new supply will be available. I appreciate there is a shortage of metals, as we are also experiencing delays in securing oast iron pipe. However, the town continues to expand, and in order to protect our requirements we place blanket orders for several thousand feet at a time for future delivery, and usually by the time the pipe shows up we are in a position to use it. lou may wish to adopt a similar procedure to protect present and future requirements for fire hydrants. Understand an order was placed in October for 15 Mueller hydrants and probably you could ascertain when these will be available so we can make arrangements to install them for you wherever the Fire Chief designates. There are some locations badly in need of fire hydrant protection, particularly the North Main Street district. If I can assist in any way pleas© call on me* Sincerely, A. M. Folger
