    Dearest Mary,
    line 5
    I must take time this
    line 6
evening to pen you a few
    line 7
    lines but you must expect
    line 8
but a few for I have borrowed
    line 9
a pen and ink and must

    return shortly.

    I was very much surprised

    line 17
is sort of an excuse for me this

let you know whether I am
    line 1
coming up or not, but very very
    line 2
sorry to say I cannot spend
    line 3
Christinas with you, unless things turn out differently from what I expect. We returned with the wagon and lumber last Friday had a splendid trip all except getting good and wet from the storm.
Harry left here this afternoon for Panaca expects to get there Friday night. Will not move Elen down just now as the place is not in the fix he wants it and besides he is to leave here in about two weeks for the Canyon, he cannot spend more than four or five days in Panaca. but he felt as though he must go anyway if Elen hasent gone to Pioche I think he is calculating to get there in time to take her up I fear I am imposing on good nature so dear Mary you will excuse me this time and trust to my doing better next.
You must not think this April fool, but it comes pretty near being as bad.
I supose you will be happy
