    The above and foregoing ordinance was first proposed and read by title to the Board of Commissioners on the 6th day of April, 1955 and referred to the following committee composed of Commissioners Bunker and Sharp, for recommendation; thereafter the said committee reported favorably on said ordinance on the 4th day of May, 1955 which was the regular meeting held on said day, that at said regular meeting held on said day, the proposed ordinance was read in full to the Board of Commissioners and adopted by the fol­lowing vote: Voting "Aye": Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple, and Mayor Baker. RICHARD LOCHRIE, being first duly sworn, deposes and says: That he is Foreman of the LAS VEGAS MORNING SUN, a daily newspaper of general circulation, printed and published at Las Vegas, in the County of Clark, State of Nevada, and that the attached was continuously published in said newspaper for a period of two wheels from May 13 1955 to May 20, 1955 inclusive, being the issues of said newspaper for the fol­lowing dates, to-wit: May 13, 20, 1955. GREENSPUN Notary Public In and For Clark County, My Commission Expires Mar. 17 1956 Nevada EMERGENCY ORDINANCE NO. 644 AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE CONCERNING SPECIAL ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO. 100-25; CORRECTING IN CERTAIN PARTICU­LARS THE CONFIRMED AMENDED ASSESSMENT ROLL FOR SAID DISTRICT; RATIFYING, APPROVING, AND CONFIRMING ACTION TAKEN HERETOFORE IN THE PROCEEDING FOR ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO. 100-25; PRESCRIBING DETAILS IN CONNECTION THEREWITH AND OTHER MATTERS RELATIVE THERETO; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND DECLAR­ING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, Emergency Ordinance No. 601, as amended by Emergency Ordinance No. 629 provided that the entire cost and expense of making said improvements were deemed to be $104,161.07; and WHEREAS, it appears that an erroneous assessment was made on Page 57 of the amended Assessment Roll for Special Assessment District No. 100-25 on Lot A, owned by B.P.O.E. #1468, in the amount of $1,494.79, as total cost; and WHEREAS, the actual cost chargeable against this said above described property, as appears on Page 57 of the amended Assessment Roll should be $1,101.00; and WHEREAS, other corrections made in said amended Assessment Roll reduce the total cost to the City for said improvements to the sum of $103,070.27; and WHEREAS# Emergency Ordinance No. 631 authorized the issuance of bonds in the total amount of $62,533.27 which is the amount of assessments levied against private property, less cash payments received; and WHEREAS, the total amount chargeable against public corporations, for which an assessment cannot be levied, was the sum of $11,494.34; and WHEREAS, the deduction of cash payments received and the cost chargeable against public property leaves the sum of $62,533.27 to be attained by the sale of bonds, NOW, THEREFORE, THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That that certain assessment against Lot A owned by the B.P.O.E. #1468, as appears on Page 57 of the confirmed amended Assessment Roll for Special Assessment District No. 100-25, is hereby amended to charge the proper cost against said property and shall read as follows: Lot. No. Ownership Realty Total Final Cost A Lodge: B.P.O.E. $2202.00 $2292.00 $1101.00 #1468, 128 S. 3rd Street, City SECTION 2. That a certified copy of this ordinance shall be posted in the amended Assessment Roll for Special Assessment District No. 100-25 the same bearing No. 33-1955 and shall constitute conclusive authority for the charge so made. SECTION 3. That all action, proceedings, minutes and things inconsistent with the provisions of this ordinance heretofore taken, had and done by the City of Las Vegas and the officers of said City concern­ing Street Improvement Assessment District No. 100-25, be and the same is hereby ratified, approved and confirmed. SECTION 4. That all ordinances or Resolutions, or parts thereof, in conflict with the .provisions of this ordinance, are hereby repealed. SECTION 5. That by reason of the fact that the streets of the City of Las Vegas are inadequate to meet the present and future needs of the City and its inhabitants and that it is necessary immediately to raise funds to improve said streets, therefore, it is hereby declared that an emergency exists, and that this ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety. SECTION 6. That the City Clerk and Clerk of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas shall cause this ordinance to be published once a week for two successive weeks immediately following its final reading and adoption, in the Las Vegas Sun, a daily newspaper published in said City, and this ordinance shall became effective immediately following the second publication hereof.
