I know of few people who are as deserving as you are of this honor. I wish Landra and I were able to attend this celebration. Since 1951, you have been an activist in community affairs and projects. When you and Lloyd were theater owners, you provided jobs for young people, and you gave generously of your time and money to educational causes and to programs that affect youth. As chairman of the Holocaust Education Committee, you helped develop an internationally-recognized Holocaust Curriculum program and energized community leaders about the need to study the Holocaust. In addition, you have been an advisor to the Close-Up program, helping hundreds of students to travel to Washington, D.C. to learn about how national government works. Edythe, thank you for all the remarkable things you have done for the people of Nevada. Your involvement in the community has made all our lives richer. We congratulate you on your special evening.
