I understand that an IB*-inch pipe line is sufficient to carry the entire normal flow of these springs, i f that is so, X see as particular objection to extending the new pipe line te the springs with a view to taking the water from them direst. X believe, how­ever, that i f it is decided to do this, care should be takes aot to back up or dam up the water at the springs as my experience has been that this sometimes deer eases the flow of water from the spring. I would be in favor of using reinforced concrete pipe, it having been thoroughly demonstrated that the alkalies in the soil at Las Vegas will destroy a wooden pipe line. X have had no exper­ience with reinforced concrete pipe, but i f it is properly manu­factured and laid there should be no reason why it would not give
