    On motion of Commissioner Ronnow seconded by Commissioner Krause it was moved and carried that the City lease to Mrs. Frye and Peter Pansey the rooms at the Municipal Swimming pool that were suita le for use as a lunch room. Said lease to be signed only on the written con­sent of each member of the Recreation Board. Vote Commissioners Krause and Ronnow and Mayor Pro Tem Marble voting aye. Noes, none. No motion of Commissioner Krause seconded by Commissioner Ronnow it was moved and carried that the City Clerk write the City Health Officer and Fire Chief to make a thorough investi­gation of that portion of the City between Main and Second Street and North of Ogden Street. Said investigation to be for Health and fire hazards. Vote Commissioners Krause and Ronnow and Mayor Pro Tem Marble voting aye. Noes, none. On motion of Commissioner Ronnow seconded by Commissioner Krause it was moved and carried that bids for supplies (electrical) having been checked by the purchasing Clerk be considered and that the bid of the Standard Wholesale supply Company be accepted. Vote Commissioners Krause , Ronnow and Mayor Pro Tem Marble voting aye. Noes, none. No further business appearing before the Board at this time the meeting recessed and adjourned until Wednesday the 13th day of April, 1938 at the hour of seven o'clock P.M. OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK CITY OF LAS VEGAS, CLARK COUNTY, NEVADA. APRIL 13th, 1938. Minutes of a recessed regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, Clark County, Nevada held on the 13th day of April, 1938 at the hour of seven o'clock P.M. Present Mayor Pro Tem Marble, Commissioners Krause and Ronnow and City Attorney and Clerk. Absent Commissioner Perry and Mayor Arnett. At this time the City Clerk presented to the Board a letter from the Burke Shows asking permission to play in the City of Las Vegas in the near future, as the said shows had not been able to play in the Las Vegas the first week in April, 1938., when permission had boon granted. On motion of Commissioner Ronnow seconded by Commissioner Krause it was moved and carried that the City Attorney answer the letter for the Board of Commissioners and state to Mr. Burke the requirements needing to be complied with before a license may be had. Vote Commissioners Krause and Ronnow and Mayor Pro Tem Marble voting aye. Noes, none. On motion of Commissioner Krause seconded by Commissioner Ronnow it was moved and carried that the Commission approve the claim of Dr. E.H. Conger in the sum of $82.50. Said claim be­ing allowed as per the decision of the Justice Court Case E.H. Conger vs. the City of Las Vegas,. Vote Commissioners Krause and Ronnow and Mayor Pro Tem Marble voting aye. Noes, none. Attorney Leo McNamee appeared before the Board representing Mrs. Adam Kramer in request­ing the Board of Commissioners to grant a gaming license to the Bank Club to be operated in a building at 17 Fremont Street, owned by Mrs. Kramer. No action was taken on the matter but Mr. Mc Namee was informed that the matter would be considered at a meeting to be held on the 15th day of month. On motion of Commissioner Ronnow seconded by Commissioner Krause it was moved and carried that the City Attorney draft a form to letter to James A. Farley in Washington D.C. asking that an interchange of lanes be allowed in Salt Lake City between the W.A.E. and the United Airlines. This applying only to sleeper planes, and providing better accomodations to air passengers. Said letter to be signed by Mayor Pro Tem Marble. Vote Commissioner Krause and Ronnow and Mayor Pro Tem Marble voting aye. Noes, none. No motion of Commissioner Krause seconded by Commissioner Ronnow it was moved and carried that all slot machine licenses applied for at this time be granted. Vote Commissioner Krause and Ronnow and Mayor Pro Tem Marble voting aye. Noes, none. On motion of Commissioner Ronnow seconded by Commissioner Krause it was moved and carried that the City Treasurer W.B. Mundy sign in triplicate the quarterly "Reconciliation Statement" for the Nevada State Employment Service, allowing the sum of $12.50 toward the support of said office of the Nevada State Employment Service for April, May and June, 1938. Vote Commissioners Krause and Ronnow and Mayor Pro Tem Marble voting aye. Noes, none. The following entitled Ordinance No. 233 of the City of Las Vegas was read to the Board for a second time and adopted by the following vote, Commissioners Krause and Ronnow and Mayor Pro Tem Marble voting aye. Noes, none Absent Mayor Arnett and Commissioner Perry. "AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE ERECTION AND MAINTENANCE OF BILLBOARDS, ELECTRICAL SIGNS AND ALL OTHER KINDS OF OUTDOOR SIGNS, PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS THEREFOR AND INSPECTION THEREOF FIXING THE FEES FOR ALL SUCH PERMITS AND INSPECTIONS AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE. No further business appearing before the Board at this time the meeting recessed and adjourned until Friday the 15th day of April at the hour of seven o'clock P.M.
