City Manager Kennedy presented two applications for package liquor licenses by Allan M. Kelley at 404 West Bonanza and Henry Martin Inc. at 4l8 West Bonanza. The Commission instructed Mr. Kennedy to notify these applicants there were no package liquor licenses available, and authorized the refund of the fees de­posited with these applications. Supervisor of Building and Safety Art Trelease presented the application of Wheeler Trucking Co. for permission to move a 20' x 20' frame building from the Consolidated Construction Yard at H and Mesquite to 1701 Western Avenue and recommended this permit be approved. Commissioner Fountain moved that a house moving permit be granted to Wheeler Trucking Co. to move a building from H & Mesquite to 1701 Western Avenue, subject to compliance with City ordinance. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. City Manager Kennedy reminded the Commission that the annual spring meeting of the Nevada Municipal Association will be held in Wells, Nevada on May 10th through 13th, 1957, and requested that those wishing to attend notify Robert W. Notti, Assistant to the Mayor as soon as possible. Commissioner Wendell Bunker, President of the Nevada Municipal Association extended an invitation to all members and any department heads who would like to attend this meeting. Mr. Bunker reported that arrangements had been made for excellent speakers at the convention, and a very good program outlined. Commissioner Sharp and Mayor Baker indicated that they would be in attendance at this meeting. Commissioner Whipple moved that Commissioner Wendell Bunker be commended for his outstanding service as President of the Nevada Municipal Association, and that an appropriate resolution be drawn by the City Attorney to be presented to the Board at the next meeting for adoption and entrance in the minutes of this Board; and that a copy be forwarded to the Executive Secretary of the Nevada Municipal Association acknowledged at the meeting in Wells, Nevada. Motion seconded by Commissioner Fountain and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Not voting: Commissioner Bunker. Commissioner Sharp asked for a report from the City Manager on the status of the improvement of Hyde Park Circle. Mr, Kennedy advised the Commission that blow sand was being hauled in and sprinkled down at the present time. The City Manager stated that the installation of the sprinkling system would commence within eight to ten days. Commissioners Fountain and Whipple, committee for recommendation on the proposed amendment to the Electrical Code asked for additional time before reporting. Commissioners Fountain and Whipple, committee for recommendation on the proposed amendment to the Plumbing Code requested additional time before reporting. Commissioners Fountain and Whipple, committee for recommendation on the proposed amendment to the Warm Air Heating Code requested additional time before reporting. Commissioners Bunker and Sharp, committee for recommendation on the proposed ordinance concerning fortune tellers and like businesses requested additional time before reporting. Commissioners Bunker and Sharp, committee for recommendation on the proposed ordi­nance concerning Use Permits in Fire Zones, requested additional time before re­porting. An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 3 OF ORDINANCE NO. 734 BY PROVIDING THAT THE LICENSE TAXES FOR REVENUE IMPOSED ON THE OPERATORS OF GAMING AS DEFINED IN ORDINANCE NO. 734, SHALL PAY SUCH LICENSE TAXES IN ADVANCE: PRO­VIDING OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATED THERETO: PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLA­TION OF THIS ORDINANCE: AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH, was read by title and referred to Commissioners Fountain and Sharp for recommendation. An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION IV OF ORDINANCE NO. 378, REFERRED TO AS SECTION 10, CHAPTER 24, OF THE LAS VEGAS CITY CODE, 1949, BY AMENDING THE LAND USE PLAN MAP ADOPTED BY THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, AND CHANGING THE ZONING DESIGNATION OF CERTAIN AREAS ON THE SAID MAP, (Z-l-57 and Z-4-57), was read by title and referred to Commissioners Bunker and Sharp for recommendation. Commissioner Sharp, member of the committee to investigate and make a recommenda­tion on the request of Vaughn and Gerald Leavitt And tenants in the Leavitt Building at 1502 South 5th Street for vacation or correction of the parking problem on the triangle in front of their building, made a report at this time. Commissioner Sharp stated that it was the recommendation of the Committee that parking meters be installed in this area which will park between 12 and 13 cars. Commissioner Sharp moved this recommendation be accepted and that one-hour parking meters be installed in this area. Motion seconded by Commissioner Fountain and carried by the Following vote: Com­missioners Bunker, Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none.
