Johnson Supplementing my letter of November 29th relative to application of the Las Vegas Land and Water Company for authority to refuse to make further connections and referring specifically to the order of the Nevada Public Service Comal esion granting our application ex parte and fixing a out-off date as of December 1, 1961. The order was given publicity yesterday in Las Vegas and the town folks moved in on the Oovernor and Mr. Allen, Chairman of the Public Service Commission, who unfortunately happened to be in Las Vegas, and after a meeting lasting far into the night, the order of November 23, 1961 was rescinded, by a telephone meeting of the Public Service Commission, one Commissioner being in Carson City and one in Las Vegas, will be held on January 22, 1962 but the ex parte order, in whloh the out-off date set for December 1, 1961, is now a thing of the past. 1 understand another meeting has been called for this evening to consider ways and means of immediate acquisition of the Water Company. Possibly the agitation which ve stirred up ©ay have the results we hoped it would have in awakening the people to the realisation of the seriousness of the water situation in Las Vegas. @o far as I have been able to determine, the hearing Bennett MOV 30 1951 L.
