LIQUOR APPLICATIONS Commissioner Jarrett moved the application of Glenn Marshall and Patsy Malpede, New Nevada Bar, 115 North 1st Street for a Restaurant Beverage license for the first quarter of 1952 be denied. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commis­sioners Jarrett, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commis­sioners Bunker and Peccole. TAXI APPLICATIONS Commissioner Whipple moved the following applications for renewal of taxicab licenses Renewals for the first quarter of 1952 be granted: NORTH US VEGAS TAXI CO. Thomas H. Garrison 2 Taxis BLUE CAB COMPANY C. F. Shaw 8 Taxis Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commis­sioners Jarrett, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Bunker and Peccole. CIGARETTE APPLICATIONS Commissioner Whipple moved the following applications for license for the retail sale of cigarettes and tobacco products for the first quarter of 1952 be approved: EL CORTEZ SMOKE SHOP Earl Mancill 600 Fremont GOLDEN NUGGET INC. Gordon 101 Carson Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commis­sioners Jarrett, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Bunker and Peccole. POWER & WATER SERVICE Commissioner Whipple moved the City Attorney proceed to get the necessary data to appear on behalf of the City to protest the applications of the Southern Nevada Power Company and the Las Vegas Land & Water Company before the Public Service Commission concerning extension of service in the City of Las Vegas, said hearings to be held on January 22 and 23, 1952. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commis­sioners Jarrett, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Bunker and Peccole. There being no further business to come before the meeting at this time Commissioner Whipple moved this meeting adjourn. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commis­sioners Jarrett, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Bunker and Peccole. D. Baker with the following members present: Mayor C. D. Baker Commissioner Wendell Bunker Commissioner Rex A. Jarrett Commissioner William Peccole Commissioner Reed Whipple City Attorney Howard W. Cannon City Manager C. W. Shelley City Clerk Shirley Ballinger MINUTES Commissioner Whipple moved the minutes of January 2, 1952 be approved by reference and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to sign same. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commis­sioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. PAYROLL WARRANTS Commissioner Whipple moved that Payroll Warrants Nos. 1265 to 1268 inclusive in the net amount of $30,459.64 be approved and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to sign same. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commis­sioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. SERVICE & MATERIAL Commissioner Whipple moved that Service and Material Warrants Nos. 2219 to 2224 in- WARRANTS clusive in the total amount of $22,880.24 be approved and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to sign same.
