    Director of Public Works George Wade presented the matter of the United States Coast & Geodetic Survey, Triangulation Stations to the Board. During May, 1955, Lt. Leonard S. Baker, U. S. Coast and Geodetic Survey was in this area to re-establish triangula­tion points that inadvertently had been destroyed. The Department of Commerce, Coast and Geodetic Survey, by letter of July 1, 1955, advised that stations can be installed for between $600 and $700 per station. It is requested that three supplementary triangulation stations be established within the City at a cost of approximately $1,800.00 total. It is anticipated that this work can be undertaken possibly in October or November of this year. Commissioner Bunker moved that the three triangulation points be re-established at a cost of approximately $1,800.00 total. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Bunker moved the payroll warrants Nos. 4136 through 4614 in the net amount of $61,812.54 be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Whipple moved the service and material warrants Nos. 3641 to 3750 and 3753 to 3775 inclusive in the total amount of $304,152.61 be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. City Manager Kennedy at this time presented the applications for Federal aid in the recent flood damage incurred to the City. Mr. Kennedy reported that approximately $60,000.00 would be available. Thereafter Commissioner Sharp moved adoption of the following resolution: WHEREAS, the City of Las Vegas and its public property and facilities sustained exten­sive damage due to the heavy rains and flood of June 13, 1955; and WHEREAS, emergency relief funds from the local, county and state levels are not available for repair of damage and replacement of streets, sewers and public property damaged by said flood; and WHEREAS, application to the Federal government for emergency disaster relief is absolutely necessary, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada, by the authority so vested in said Board, at a regular meeting held on the 20th day of July, 1955; that A. H. KENNEDY, City Manager of the City of Las Vegas, is hereby appointed the duly authorized representative of the applicant, and empowered to sign for the applicant wherever and whenever necessary as pertains to this application for Federal disaster relief money. Motion seconded by Commissioner Fountain and carried by the following vote: Commission­ers Bunker, Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Whipple moved that the minutes of July 6, 1955 be approved by reference and the Mayor and Clerk authorized to sign same.
