An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE PROTECTION OF THE PUBLIC HEALTH AND SAFETY, AND THE EXAMINATION, REGISTRATION, LICENSING OF PERSONS EN­GAGED IN THE BUSINESS OF PLUMBING, OR LABORING AT THE TRADE OF PLUMBING; RE­QUIRING A PERMIT FOR THE INSTALLATION OR ALTERATION OF PLUMBING AND DRAINAGE SYSTEMS; CREATING AN ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICE AND BOARD OF PLUMBER EXAMINERS, AND PRESCRIBING THEIR DUTIES; DEFINING CERTAIN TERMS; ESTABLISHING MINIMUM REGULATIONS FOR THE INSTALLATION , ALTERATION OR REPAIR OF PLUMBING AND DRAINAGE SYSTEMS AND THE INSPECTION THEREOF; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR ITS VIOLATION AND REPEALING ORDINANCES NO. 476,520,637, AND ALL OTHER ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCE IN CONFLICT THEREWITH, having been reported on favorably by Commissioners Fountain and Sharp was read in full to the Board. An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS TO PROVIDE FOR THE SERVICE OF LETTERS AND NOTICES BY CERTIFIED MAIL IN LIEU OF REGISTERED MALL; PROVIDING OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATED THERETO; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH, was read by title and referred to Commissioners Bunker and Sharp for recommendation. An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION I OF ORDINANCE NO. 390 PROVIDING FOR A LICENSE TAX FOR PUBLIC UTILITIES, PROVIDING OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATED THERETO AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THERE­WITH, was read by title and referred to Commissioners Bunker and Fountain for recommendation. An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE NO. 559, ALSO KNOWN AS CHAPTER 36, SECTION 4l, CODE OF LAS VEGAS, 1949, AS AMENDED, BY PROVIDING FOR SPEED LIMITS ON THE PUBLIC STREETS AND ALLEYS WITHIN THE CITY; TO AMEND CHAPTER 36, SECTION 39 DEALING WITH THE RIGHT OF WAY ON PUBLIC STREETS; PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE; PROVIDING FOR OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATED THERETO; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH, was read by title and referred to Commissioners Sharp and Fountain for recommendation. An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 17 OF THE CODE OF LAS VEGAS, NEVADA, 1949, WHICH PROVIDES FOR THE LICENSING OF BUSINESSES WITHIN THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, BY ADDING A NEW SECTION THERETO TO BE KNOWN AS SECTION 23: LIMITING THE LOCATION OF COIN OPERATED AMUSEMENT MACHINES; PROHIBITING PERSONS UNDER 18 FROM PLAYING CERTAIN MACHINES; PROVIDING OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATED THERETO; PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION HEREOF, was read by title and referred to Commissioners Fountain and Whipple. Commissioner Bunker introduced the following resolution authorizing the publication of the Notice of Sale of bonds on Assessment District No. 100-36, and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas have taken steps to create certain public improvements; and WHEREAS, the time has now arrived to authorize and direct the City Clerk to advertise for the sale of bonds all in accordance with the proceedings heretofore taken to construct said improvements by special assessment; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas at a regular meeting thereof held on the 7th day of March, 1956, that the City Clerk and Clerk of the Board of Commissioners be and she is here­by directed to publish notice that the Board of Commissioners will receive bids for bonds for Special Assessment District No. 100-36 in the aggregate principal amount of $577,145.23.
