554 ASSESSMENT DISTRICT 100-11 Partial Payment The matter of the partial payment on Assessment District No 100-11 to Shock Electric in the amount of $2,500.25 to he held in abeyance until the contract is signed ASSESSMENT DISTRICT 200-12 Pinal Payment Commissioner Bunker moved the final payment less 10% retention to Longley Construction Company on Assessment District No. 200-12 be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. PETITIONS FOR SEWER ASSESSMENTS Desert Lane & Ellis Ave. Two petitions for sewer assessments on Desert Lane and Ellis Avenue were presented at this time to the Board and accepted. Referred back to Engineering for further study and recommendation. PROPOSED ORDINANCE Commissioners Sharp and Whipple members of the committee for recommen- Board of Zoning Adjustments dation on the proposed ordinance for Board of Zoning Adjustments asked for additional time before reporting. ORDINANCE NO. 582 Annexation At this time Commissioner Bunker member of the committee for recommendation on the proposed annexation ordinance reported favorably. Thereafter an Ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING TO, AND MAKING A PART OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, CERTAIN SPECIFICALLY DESCRIBED TERRITORY ADJOINING AND CONTIGUOUS TO THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS; DECLARING SAID TERRITORY AND INHABITANTS TO BE ANNEXED THERETO AND SUBJECT TO ALL LAWS AND ORDINANCES; ORDERING A PLAT SHOWING SAID TERRITORY TO BE RECORDED IN THE OFFICE OF THE COUNTY RECORDER OF THE COUNTY OF CLARK, STATE OF NEVADA; AND PROVIDING OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATED THERETO, was read in full to the Board. Commissioner Bunker moved the above entitled Ordinance No. 5 8 2 be adopted with the condition that Parcel 6 of the above entitled Ordinance include THE NE 1/4 SEC. 25, T 20 S, R 60 E. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried: Absent: Commissioner Sharp. Commissioner Sharp returned to the meeting at this time. ORDINANCE NO. 583 Parking Meter Zones At this time Commissioners Bunker and Jarrett members of the committee for recommendation on the proposed ordinance for parking meter zones, reported favorably. Thereafter an ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 3 6 , SECTION 1 1 6 , CODE OF LAS VEGAS, NEVADA AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 3 9 6 , AND ORDINANCE NO. 429 BY EXTENDING PARKING METER ZONES WITHIN THE CITY; PROVIDING FOR OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY RELATED THERETO; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH, was read in full to the Board. Commissioner Jarrett moved the above entitled Ordinance No. 5 8 3 be adopted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Sharp passed his vote. CLAIM FOR DAMAGEES Mrs. Babette Fishman Commissioner Jarrett moved the claim of Mrs. Babette Fishman in the amount of $5,000.00 for damages received October 3, 1953, on corner of 5th and Fremont be denied. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. CALIFORNIA CLUB Change of Owner At this time Commissioner Whipple moved the application of the California Club for change of owners to Walter O. Parman and George E. Arquilla be approved. HORSESHOW CLUB Change of Owner Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. At this time the application of the Horseshow Club for change of ownership to Robert Caudell, Joe W. Brown and William C. Dorsett be approved subject, to favorable report from the Police Department. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Jarrett stated that he writes the insurance for these people. ORDINANCE NO. 5 8 2 Rescinded & Reaidopted At this time Commissioner Bunker moved to rescind action on the annexation ordinance. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Mayor Baker stated he has an interest in one parcel of land to be annexed. Commissioner Bunker then moved that Ordinance No. 5 8 2 be adopted.
