Mr. Thomas ¥. Robinson Page 2 November 27, 1951 Z think similar testimony at the hearing in January would be very desirable and if it oould be brought down to more recent times, that would of course be better. Your testimony, of course, would be directed to the rate of recharge and discharge of the Las Vegas Valley Water Basin and any pertinent information you might have to show the decrease in the available water supply for the City of Las Vegas and the overdrafts on such supply. If you have any information with respect to pressure or any particular wells, that would of course be desirable if it would show a decline in the water level. There is one thing I would like to secure some testimony on if it is possible, or some opinion testimony, and that is the approximate time it takes the snow falls on Mt. Charleston to reach the Las Vegas Valley Water Basin. Has any attempt ever been made to determine that time and if so, has any success been made in such determination? My point, of course, is that the snow fall in the Mt. Charleston range last winter was 10$ of normal and the winter before was about 50$ of normal. If that enow fall last winter is the snow which reaches the Las Vegas Valley Water Basin this coming summer, it is obvious that the water basin will be greatly depleted. On the other hand, if it takes over a year for that water to percolate down, we would have a 50$ snow fall replenishing the water basin. If anything can be ‘ developed along that line, I would appreciate your checking it. I do not know whether you will have to be subpoened to testify in this case but IfT so, I will arrange to have the Commission subpoena you. Of course, we will pay all of your expenses, including transportation, living expenses and such reasonable expert witness fee as you customarily receive in these matters. It is quite possible that we would like to have you in Las Vegas Monday morning, January 21st, 1952, to go over the case with the other witnesses and with the attorneys for the Water Company. Will you please advise me, therefore, whether you can and will be willing to testify in these proceedings and whether it will be possible for you to be in Las Vegas on January 21, 1952 to go over your testimony? Very truly yours Enc E. E. Bennett
