V SCHULTZ AND SCHULTZ ATTORNEYS AT LAW 319 FREMONT STREET LAS VEGAS,NEVADA TELEPHONE 1198 February 5, 1951 Mr. L. A. White, Auditor Las Vegas Land and Water Company 1416 Dodge Street Omaha 2, Nebraska Dear Sir: Please pardon my delay in answering your letters of recent date. I have been suffering from a painful and severe eye ailment which has practically deprived me of the use of my eyes and caused a number of similar matters to yours to be delayed in answering. I own a number of income properties in Las Vegas and it is our practice to pay all public utilities, particularly water, between the first and 10th of each month as we do not receive any statements from your local office and we are particularly careful to pay such bills promptly in order to avoid any delinquency. I am certain that there is no balance of §2.00 or any other sum owing on account number 4609 and likewise no sum owing on account number 4893 as set forth in your statements to me • Having such a large number of accounts X realize it is very easy for mistakes to occur like during the past few days, during my absence in Los Angeles, my secretary was informed by your office that our water bill of $66.00 was delinquent and must be paid at once or service would be discontinued. My son immediately made out a check in this sum of $66.00 and mailed to you but several days later it was returned to him with a statement that they had received my earlier check in the same sum but had failed to credit it promptly. I am certain that all of my accounts with you are up to date and hope that after a thorough analysis you will so find and advise me accordingly. Cleveland Schultz, Sr CSjgb
