The meeting was called to order by President Harvey E. Luce at 8:00 p .m ., Tuesday, May 5, 1959. The following Directors were present* Arthur Espinoza Leonard R. Fayle (joined meeting later) Maurice M . Gedance •Harvey E,. Luce Louis C ..P ic o , Sr. James G . Ryan Ted Werner Also present: W . C . Renshaw, John M cNam ee, Ed Phillips and Mary Jean Barozzi APPROVAL O F M IN U TE S President Luce announced that the first business before the Board was approval o f the:minutes as distributed for thte regular meeting of A pril 7 and the adjourned meeting of April 21, 1959. There being no corrections, additions or deletion, a motion was made by Director Pico, seconded by Director Werner, and approved by the six Directors present, that the minutes as distributed for the meetings of April 7 and 21, 1959 be approved, o Director Fayle joined the meeting at this time. C O N T R A C T N O . 21 The President advised that the next; matter before the' Shard waS rOceipt of bids and award of contract under Contract N o . 21, Construction of;8-in ch mdin in East Charleston Bou levard. The following bids were opened by Secretary Gedance and read and checked by Manager Renshaw. Ace Plumbing & Heating Company, Inc. Long ley Construction; Company George E. M ille r Construction.Company Tiberti Construction Company $22,420.00 22 .89 0.00 24,312.48 23.752.00 In response to questions, Manager Renshaw advised that Ace Plumbing and Heating Company, the apparent low bidder, had not done any work under a District contract, but had laid pipe lines which had been inspected by the District. He noted that the bid appeared to be in order.
