    Commissioner Sharp moved that the request of John L. Funk et al to change the name of Downtown Liquors, 2109 Fremont to Nevada Liquors, be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Bunker moved that the application of Aldo and Raymond Barozzi for the addition of Raymond Barozzi to the retail liquor miniature license of Alray Liquor Store, 226 North 2nd Street, for the third quarter of 1955, be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Bunker moved that the application of Joe Schram and C. G. Hoover for the addition of C. G. Hoover to the tavern license of Duffy's Tavern, 1815 South 5th Street, for the third quarter of 1955; be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Sharp moved that the gaming applications of George Arquilla for 1 Chuck-a- Luck for the third quarter of 1955 at the California Club, 101 Fremont; and C. C. King for 1 "21" and 3 slots for the third quarter of 1955 for the Golden Nugget, 128 Fremont, be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Sharp moved that the application of Harry C. Badger for a new gaming license for the third quarter of 1955 for 1 Faro Bank at the Cinnabar, 122 North 2nd Street, be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Fountain and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Whipple moved that the following applications for cigarette licenses be approved: PRESTINI'S 812 W. Bonanza Sutton Vending ROMICK'S 131 No. 3rd Meyer M. Romick THELMA'S BARBECUE 1400 D Street Sutton Vending COTTON CLUB 500 Jackson Uvalde Caperton Motion seconded by Commissioner Sharp and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Fountain moved the application of Ira Hallibruton for 1 replacement taxi for Western Enterprises Inc., 109 W. Adams, for the third quarter of 1955; be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Whipple moved the payroll warrants Numbers 4615 to 5110 in the net amount of $66,618.85 be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Fountain and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Sharp moved the service and material warrants Numbers 3787 to 3958 inclusive in the total amount of $99,954.58 be approved. Motion seconded by Commissioner Fountain and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Whipple moved that the minutes of July 20, 22 and 27, 1955 be approved by reference and the Mayor and Clerk authorized to sign same. Motion seconded by Commissioner Fountain and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Fountain, Sharp, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. City Manager Kennedy stated that a check had been made by the City Manager's office, the Department of Public Works and the Comptroller on the bids for the maintenance of radio equipment, and that their recommendation was that the bid be awarded to Motorola Communica­tions & Electronics, Inc. Commissioner Sharp moved that the recommendation of the City Manager be accepted and that Bid No. 55.12 on maintenance of radio equipment be awarded to the low bidder, Motorola Communications & Electronics, Inc., and the Mayor and Clerk authorized to sign the contract.
