Mr* Robert W* Nottl, Acting City Manager City Hall Las Vegas, Nevada Dear Mr. Ncttis Pley.ee refer to your letter of June 21, 195^* In which you request that I advise you as to the steps which are presently being taken and which we expect to take in the future to augment the supply of water for the City of Las Vegas* At the present time we are constructing two new water wells which are Number 12 and Humber 13, the plans for which call for a depth of 1200 feet each, with an esti­mated capacity of 2500 gallons per minute* Work on both of these wells Is well under way end every effort is feeing mad# to expedite their completion as quickly as possible* The drilling and testing of Well Number 12 la now completed with the exception of some miscellaneous clean up work. Power facilities and water mains to connect these wells to existing settling basins is now under way for both wells. Pumps and panels are expected to arrive at well site early next week* Well Number 13 is now drilling at approximate depth of 800 feet and every effort is being made to complete It as quickly as possible. After Well Number 12 is complete and in operation it is planned to install a new turbine pump in Well Number 11 to increase the capacity of this well and augment the supply of water to the Charleston Reservoir.
