I agree.r ALL NEW FOLIES As all the parts come together, the whole becomes the "ALL NEW FOLIES BERGERE.?╟Ñ From new costumes to set designs to staging to a new program, the 16th Edition of the Folies Bergere opened September 1 to a very special group . . . our employees. COSTUMES Hedy Jo Starr, Las Vegas' foremost costume designer, handled the costume execution. There are over 110 separate costume designs created for the new ?╟úFolies.?╟Ñ An impressive 4,000-piece wardrobe completes the apparel for the lavish revue. In the opening number, 50,000 yards of sequins were sewn onto the showgirl gowns and dancers costumes. In the can-can number alone there are over 1500 yards of material in the dresses; a total of 20,000 yards of ruffles were used to line the inside of the full-skirted dresses. Feathers for the various^headresses and costumes were flown in from South Africa, New Guinea, Austrailia and the Bahamas. Only the finest in rooster, pheasant and ostrich plumes were chosen for the new ?╟úFolies.'fv STAGING In the all new ?╟úFolies Bergere,?╟Ñ a newer, more sophisticated look in tempo with the progressive 80'$ is featured. The Music Hall theme remains, but this time the ?╟úFolies?╟Ñ salutes American music and in so doing, creates a historical sketch of the times that ends with a spectacular staging of the ?╟úspace age.?╟Ñ The show opens with a very colorful look at how the ?╟úFolies?╟Ñ might have been during World's Fair time, circa 1900. Then we make a transition and start building through the years ?╟÷ tracing the music of the 20's, 30's, 40% and so on until we end with the look of today and the future.
