I agree.12/6/72 NEW EDITION OF LIDO DE PARIS TO BE MOST SPECTACULAR LAS VEGAS?╟÷A luxury liner sailing around the world, a spectacular prison escape, the eruption of Mt. Fujiyama, a medieval jousting match on live horses, and a touching tribute to the late Maurice Chevalier are all being prepared to make their world debut here on Dec. 28. These extravaganzas, and more, are included in the all-new 10th edition of famed Lido de Paris, set to dazzle nightly visitors to the Cafe Continental of the Stardust Hotel, on the glittering Las Vegas Strip. The Lido cast of more than 100, along with a production crew nearly double that size, are hard at preparations for what will surely be the most spectacular production in the 15-year history of the Lido at the Stardust. For more than a month, director Donn Arden, producer Frank Sennes and Madame Bluebell have been conducting lengthy, closed- door rehearsals for the giant spectacle; and the daily workouts will continue up to opening night, with the cast being granted only Christmas Day off in the long period of preparation. Each morning the stage in the Cafe Continental is stripped of the lavish sets being used in the current production of the Lido, and the new sets are brought in through huge doors to take their place in the rehearsals. -10-
