Las Vegas - April 2?, 1945 Mr. G. F. Ashby Executive Vice President Omaha, Nebraska I ' „ 1 Just returned from Los Angeles this mom-lng and was in conference with Mr. Strong concerning his letter to you underdate of AprilHth with respect at Las Vegas, with his recommendations. and am in accord .. wlshTto stat« however that since conference owner of ?th^er oSEl? IR anhcahZoe hVeagda sl n<Hluotierly afnrdo ma Mrl.i keW ilrebquure sCtlark from Guy McAfee. The party mentioned in Mr. Strong's letter will invest more than a million dollars in a similar facility across the road from the El Rancho. I was obliged to advise each of these gentlemen that franchise covers only city limits and we were not in a position to furnish them the desired service. Knowing the need of this service particularly for fire protection not only to the hotels but to the several large auto courts built and now being built along Highway 91 I agree with Mr. Strong that it will be only a matter of time until there will be a determined effort with the City Commissioners to enlarge and bring about annexation of city limits in order to secure our services and also that of sanitary sewer service. I do not anticipate that such will happen this coming year as McAfee has not as yet started to construct his Hotel awaiting proper priorities but can look forward to such action being taken by the City Commissioners when earnestly requested by all property owners in that district. Yours very truly, WRB/ke ce: Mr. Frank Strong APR 30 1945 1 I 1
