SERVICE & MATERIAL Commissioner Moore moved Service and Material Warrants Nos. 1926 to 1928 inclusive in the WARRANTS total amount of $17,922.85 be approved and the Mayor and City Clerk authorized to sign same. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. PROPOSED ORDINANCE Commissioners Bunker and Peccole, committee for report on the Proposed Ordinance to amend the Pawnbrokers Pawnbroker's ordinance asked for additional time before reporting. PROPOSED ORDINANCE An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 11 OF THE ELECTRICAL CODE OF THE CITY Electrical OF LAS VEGAS AS ADOPTED BY ORDINANCE #306 OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, AND ENTITLED: "AN OR­DINANCE TO SAFEGUARD LIFE AND PROPERTY BY REGULATING AND PROVIDING FOR THE INSPECTION OF ELECTRIC WIRING, DEVICES, APPLIANCES AND EQUIPMENT; CREATING THE OFFICE OF CITY ELECTRICIAN AND PRESCRIBING HIS AUTHORITY AND. DUTIES REQUIRING THAT NO ELECTRIC WIRING DEVICES, APPLI­ANCES OR EQUIPMENT SHALL BE INSTALLED WITHOUT FIRST SECURING A PERMIT THEREFOR; CREATING A BOARD OF ELECTRICAL EXAMINERS; PROVIDING FOR THE LICENSING OF PERSON, FIRMS AND CORPORATIONS ENGAGING IN THE BUSINESS OF ELECTRICAL CONTRACTING OR EMPLOYING ELECTRICIANS TO OBTAIN EL­ECTRICAL WORK; MAKING IT UNLAWFUL TO ENGAGE IN THE BUSINESS OF ELECTRICAL CONTRACTING OR TO UNDERTAKE THE EXECUTION OF ELECTRICAL WORK WITHOUT A LICENSE, EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE PRO­VIDED; MAKING IT UNLAWFUL TO SEEL AT RETAIL CERTAIN ELECTRICAL PRODUCTS. UNLESS SUCH PRODUCTS HAVE BEEN APPROVED BY THE CITY ELECTRICIAN, AND NATIONAL BOARD OF UNDERWRITERS, PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES AND PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH." was reported on favorably by Commissioners Moore and Whipple, and thereafter read in full to the Board for the first time. Commissioner Moore moved the foregoing entitled ordinance No. 407 be adopted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Whipple, Peccole and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. PROPOSED ORDINANCE An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE EMPOWERING, AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE EX-OFFICIO CITY Assessment District ASSESSOR OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, COUNTY OF CLARK, STATE OF NEVADA, TO LEVY A SPECIAL ASSESS- #200-2 MENT TO DEFRAY THE COST OF MAKING CERTAIN IMPROVEMENTS IN THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS BY INSTALLING A SANITARY SEWER IN THE SAID CITY ACCORDING TO THE PLATS, DIAGRAMS AND ESTIMATES OF COST THERE­OF ON FILE IN THE OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK OF THE CITY. OF LAS VEGAS, DESCRIBING DEFINITELY THE LOCATION OF SAID IMPROVEMENTS, STATING THE AMOUNT OF SAID ASSESSMENT, AND DESCRIBING AND DESIGNATING THE LOCALITY CONSTITUTING THE DISTRICT TO BE ASSESSED ACCORDING TO THE BENEFITS AND OTHER MATTERS RELATING THERETO, having been reported on favorably by Commissioners Bunker and Peccole was read in full to the Board. Commissioner Bunker moved the foregoing entitled Ordinance No. 408 be adopted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. PROPOSED ORDINANCE An ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE PLANTING, CARE AND PRESERVATION OF TREES Trees IN THE PARKWAYS AND STREETS OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS; REGULATING PUCES WHERE AND UNDER WHAT CONDITIONS SAID TREES MAY BE PLANTED; PROVIDING DUTIES OF THE SUPERINTENDENT OF PARKS; PRO- VIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE AND REPEALING SECTION 10 OF CHAPTER 32 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, AND OTHER MATTERS RELATING THERETO, was read by title and referred to Commissioners Moore and Whipple for recommendation PETITION - Removal of Commissioner Moore moved the petition received from property owners in the vicinity of Char- Martin Trailer Park leston Boulevard and the County Hospital requesting the removal of the Martin Trailer Park at 1823 W. Charleston Blvd, be referred to the City Manager. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. ALLEY RIGHT OF WAY Mr. O. A. Kimball appeared before the Board at this time concerning the opening of the alley 13th & 14th Sts. parallel with North 13th and 14th Streets between Ogden and Stewart. Mr. Kimball explained Between Ogden & that right of way had been dedicated on all lots with the exception of the property owned Stewart by Mr. George Rudiak at 231 North 14th Street. Commissioner Peccole moved that the City Manager be authorized to contact Mr. Rudiak and ne- gotiate with him for the obtaining of the necessary property for opening this alley. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. BID NO. 50.11 - This being the time set for the opening of Bid No. 50.11 for the purchase of Oxygen and Acety- Oxygen & Acetylene lene, bids were received from the following firms: Nevada Welding Co. Dye Oxygen General Auto Parts McQuay Supply Co. Commissioner Bunker moved the foregoing bids be referred to the City Manager and Comptroller for tabulation and recommendation. Motion seconded by Commissioner Moore and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Moore, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none.
