Sierra Pacific Power Company Reno, Nevada — ? 1 1 f RULES AND REGULATIONS WATER DEPARTMENT The following rules and regulations applying to water service supplied "by the Sierra Pacific Power Company to its customers have "been approved "by the Public Service Commission of the State of Nevada. Under the law of the State, the Company is not permitted to supply service to any Customer who does not comply with all these regulations and no officer, inspector, solicitor, agent or employe of the Company has any authority to waive, alter or amend in any respect, these rules and regulations. 1. SERVICES AND MAIN EXTENSIONS. (a) A Customer desiring water service shall install one service pipe for each building to be.served from the building to the curb line on an adjacent street under which a water main is located, and notify the Company that he desires water service, (b) The Company will, at its own expense, connect each service pipe of the Customer to the Company’s maiiTlfy~OT~SJC£C7islon of the service pipe from the curb line to the main, v.c) It is strongly recommended that the Customer use only galvanized iron pipe in his portion of the service pipe. This is considered desirable, because pipe not galvanized has been proven to be subject to rapid deterioration, from rust with a resulting unsatisfactory water supply to the Customer. The Company will use only galvanized iron pipe in its portion of the service pipe. (d) All service pipes of the Customer shall be laid not less than thirty (30") inches below the surface of the ground. It has been found that, this minimum depth is necessary for protection from frost, and furthermore in the City of Reno, a city ordinance specifies a thirty (30") inch minimum depth. The Company wi.ll install its portion of the service pipe not less than thirty (30") inches below the surface of the ground. (o) The Company will install, at its own expense, one stop cock, to be located at the Customer’s curb line. (f) The Company will, at its own expense, extend its main one hundred and fifty (150*) feet exclusive of length of service pipe, for each Customer desiring service. (g) Whenever an application for water service is received, which will require the Company to extend its mains more than one hundred and fifty (150*) feet, exclusive of length of service pipe for each customer to be served, the Customer or Customers shall enter into a contract to advance sufficient money to cover the cost of making such extension. The amount advanced will be returned to the Customer or Customers at the rate of 25^> of the monthly bills for water over a period of not more than five (5) years, tEe amount, if any, remaining unrefunded at the expiration of that pferio'd Becoming the property of the Company. < The main extension becomes the property of the Company immediately upon the coroplecion of its construction, and will be maintained by the Company at its own expense® (h) 'No connection to or branch from the service pipe, shall be made by the j Customer, or by a plumber employed by the Customer between the Company's main and the curb-cock installed by the Company at the curb line.
