This is about the LUtiteet snow cover measured on this date since snov surveys were started in this area ten years ago.* In the April 1, 1960 report, the following language Is significant! •The southern two-thirds of the State can expect very little enow melt water as snow surveys Indicate that during the past winter many areas received their lowest recorded snowfall. * * * Southern Nevada contains the poorest snow cover since the beginning of records. * * * Snow water in the Mount Charleston area near Las Vegas Is near an all time low for this date. This year was only 30# of last and SO% of normal.* In the March 1, 1951 report, It states that the enow stored water in the Spring Mountains north of Las Vegas is only 15# of the past ten year average. Finally, in the April 1, 1951 report, I find the following languages *1951 snow water runoff will vary from drought conditions In Central and Southern Nevada to about 50# above normal in the north on the Main Humboldt River. * • • Snow water in the Mount Charleston area near Las Vegas Is at or near an all time low for this date.
