I agree.II-1-4 (Rev 3/12/82) LIGHTS UP Limbo Area #4: Inside the Perkins' parlor and outside the house. As lights come up, NR. and MRS. PERKINS, their daughter RUTH and her suitor, LUKE, are seated in the parlor. Outside, CALEB is meowing like a cat. MRS. PERKINS I hear the cat outside. LUKE (Promptly, eager to please) I'll get it, Mrs. Perkins. (CALEB meows again as LUKE goes to find the cat) MRS. PERKINS Poor Tabby, out so late. (LIGHTS DIM a little on parlor area and COME UP FULL on fence area. CALEB continues meowing. LUKE appears and realizes it is not the cat but is CALEB and sneaks stealthily up behind him.) LUKE (Mockingly) M-e-o-w! (CALEB turns, startled, looks up. Before LUKE can hit CALEB, ADAM appears and hits LUKE on the head, knocking him out cold.) Now, ADAM Hurry up. (CALEB speeds up his meowing, ADAM EXITS.) CALEB (very fast) Meow, meow, meow! (LIGHTS COME UP in the parlor again) MR. PERKINS Sounds like ole' Tabby has the croup. I . . . RUTH (Rising) I'll help Luke find her. (She EXITS)
