\ Cast iron or galvanized wrought iron steps shall be installs as shown on the plans. F. The rungs shall have a minimum length of 10 inches and be at least 3/4” in diameter. G-, Cast iron shall conform to A.S.T.M. Specs A-48. H. Wrought iron shall conform to A.S.T.M. Specs A-41. I. Manholes shall be built up so that cover when placed will be at the required grade. J. Brick shall conform to the A.S.T.M. Spec. C-32, Grade M.A. K. Mortar for laying bricks shall be composed of one part cement to two parts sand, with approximately 20 lbs. hydrated lime added for each sack, L. Water shall be clean and free from oil, acids, salt, or other injurious substances. M. Portland Cement shall conform to Standard Specifications of A.S.T.M. C-150, latest edition. It shall be a standard product. N. Lime shall conform to the Standard Specifications of A.S.T.M. C-6, latest edition for quicklime, or A.S.T.M. C-5, latest edition, for hydrated lime. O. Sand shall conform to the specifications of the A.S.T.M. C-144, latest edition. For joints of average thickness, 100^ of the sand through a No. 8 sieve and not more than 15< to 35^ through a No. 50 mesh sieve. P. Bricks shall be clean and thoroughly wetted shortly before they are laid. They shall be laid in a full bed and joint of mortar and shall be shoved in place so that all joints sne completely filled. 5
