OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK, CITY OF LAS VEGAS, CLARK COUNTY, NEVADA. AUGUST 4th, 1932. Minutes of a regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, held on the 4th day of August, 1932 at the hour of three o'clock P.M. Roll call showed the following present, Mayor Cragin, Commissioner Mundy, German, Thomas and Hansell, City attorney and Clerk. All bills allowed as per claims and warrant register on file in the office of the Clerk. Reports of City Clerk, and Municipal Judge approved by the Mayor. Monies received for the month of July as follows: $4,350.58 Licenses and fees. 190.00 Sale of Cemetery Lots 49.50 W.S. & L. Permits. 1,664.50 Municipal Court Fines. 6,254.58 Total. Monies proportioned as follows: $4,000.00 P and F Fund 2,015.08 General 190.00 Cemetery 49.50 W.S. & L. Fund 6,254.58 At this time the Commission took up the matter of providing a dump ground for the City, and after due consideration and investigation the following Resolution was adopted. Upon motion of Commissioner Mundy seconded by Commissioner Thomas the Resolution was duly adopted: RESOLVED, that the City purchase from A.W. Ham the following described real estate, situate in the County of Clark, State of Nevada, as and for a site for City dumping ground and other purposes, to-wit: The Southwest Quarter (SW ) of the Southwest Quarter (SW¼) of Section one (1), Township twenty-one (21) South, Range sixty-one (61) East Mount Diablo Base and Merdian, for the sum of Eighteen Hundred Dollars, payable $900.00 cash down, and the balance in equal monthly installments of $100.00, each the first installment being payable on the 5th day of September, 1932, and a like equal installment to be payable on the 5th day of each and every month thereafter until the full balance is due; seller to furnish a title insurance in the sum of $1800.00 guaranteeing the property to be free from lien, cloud, encumbrance or material defect, except as to mineral rights reserved in the original patent from the State of Nevada, and except as to the State and County taxes for the year 1932, which latter the first parties, sellers, shall pay and discharge promptly when due and payable and not to allow the same to be or become delinquent; that the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized on behalf of the City to enter into a written contract on behalf of the City with said sellers, and that an escrow be formed to hold said deed and policy of title insurance, and that form of contract be as shall be prescribed by the City Attorney. The vote on said Resolution was as follows: Commissioners Mundy, German, Thomas and Hansell and His Honor the Mayor E.W.Cragin voting Aye. Noes none. No further business appearing before the Board at this time the meeting recessed until Thursday the 11th day of August 1932 at the hour of three o'clock P.M. I hereby call a special meeting of the Board of City Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, to be held at the Board Room of said Board in the City Hall in the City of Las Vegas on Friday the 5th day of August, 1932 at the hour of 10:30 O'clock A.M. to take action with respect to matters relating to the police department of said City.
