I agree.Gast Iron Water Pipe Angeles, March 2S, 19*17 G-. T; Wickstrom Folger c/o Las Vegas Land & Water Co. Las Vegas, Nevada) Your verbal inquiry this morning regarding a newly established firm in the Los Angeles area who will manufacture cast iron water pipe. I find that a Mr. Charles A. Estey, formerly with the Pacific States Cast Iron Pipe Company, has made arrangements with a local foundry to manufacture 4" and 6" centrifugal cast iron pipe, and that he expects to be in production in approximately 30 days. Any orders placed now he believes could be delivered within 30 to 4-5 days. The pipe he will manufacture will be in 6 l lengths only which, of course, is to our disadvantage insofar as the number of Joints which will be necessary to caulk. At this time he is unable to give any definite price quotation but states it will be approximately the figure quoted by other pipe manufacturers. However, this will depend on his cost for cast iron scrap and pig iron. His particular concern is the availability of scrap which on the local market today is extremely scarce and expensive.
