October 10, 1952 W 23-1-89 Federal Homes Development Company Hoorn 10, Coronet Building Las Veg&s, Nevada Attentions Mr, B, H« Nicholas Gentlemen* Referring to our letter of June 4, 1952 and subsequent conversation concerning Inst&llatl n of water mains to serve Hyde Park Subdivision No, 1, Las Vegas, Nevada, In reoent conversation with your Mr, Van Drul&rd and Mr, Bronken of fierc&r Construction Company we were advlsedi (a) You propose to use Pacific States cast iron pipe and fitting with Mefihanio&l type joints; (b) You have negotiated contract with Hercar Construction Company to perform the work for the sum of $7 1 ,000, As previously advised, our standard specif1 cations call for cement joints and after due consideration of the mechanical type joint we must insist that the installation comply with such specifications, a brief outline of which Is as fallowst 1, Said water mains shall be constructed of oast iron pipe and shall be in accordance with AWWA specifications. All joints shall be of cement and all pip© shall be new @ S cast Iron, equal to AWWA Class 150, and all valve boxes shall be of cast iron of appropriate size for each v&lve, Unless otherwise approved by a duly authorized representative of the Company, all pipes, valves and fittings shall be manufactured by Pacific States Cast Iron Pipe Company or Mueller Company, All pipe lines shall be chlorinate in accordance with AWWA specifications, shall be subject to the approval and acceptance of State and City Health Authorities, and shall be
