I agree.Lou Shaw 5/21/70 THE NAME OF THE GAME "I LOVE YOU, BILLY BABY" JEFF and PEGGY arrive in LAS VEGAS to interview top cele- brities for his latest assignment on PEOPLE: An in-depth study of the music of now; the meaning of the music for the youth of today; the why and the how of it. The focal point of the story will be BILLY BABY BALDWIN, the symbol of the new era, who has agreed to let Jeff walk "in his steps," to see first hand what is happening. It's nighttime, downtown Las Vegas, and Jeff realizes that he will have to wear roller skates to stay in Billy's foot- steps. For Billy turns the town on as he parades through it, hooplahing his opening that night. As he sings, right on the streets, Jeff and Peggy see the whole bit, pace the, parade in their open convertible. As the number ends, Billy hitches a ride with Jeff back to the hotel. Jeff and Billy like each other on sight, and as they drive along, Jeff is certain he made a perfect choice in making Billy the focus of his "now" story. At a stoplight, a groupie fan of Billy's hops into the car. Jeff is amused; then amazed as Billy panics and leaps from the car and rushes off. (This is a clue which Peggy chases down later.)
