LAS VEGAS MOTEL ^ pQPY ASSOCIATION, INC, The old saying "What*s worth having la worth fighting for“ rings a true note for one reviewing the accomplishments of this organizations efforts within the short period of its existence* Thru the efforts of ¥ittwer,s Committee, Government Relations, many dollars will he saved your motel this coming year. Your sewerage disposal rates are now the same as the hotel rates. The new rates will save most motels from two to ten dollars a month, the saving being proportionate to the number of units* This change was effective January 1st, The new garbage rates scheduled to go into effect at the end of this quarter will be a definite saving to the majority of motels as the cost will be on a container basis (Same ashotels and other business) instead of on a unit basis. More on this later. Did you know that you are paying $1,50 per unit per month for your water and the hotels are paying $,55 per room? This is another inequality that Wittwer*s Committee1 is challenging and should bring some excellent results in the near future# In the meantime you can discount from your regular water bill the vacancies you have each month at the rate of $1*50 per month for every thirty vacancies* This re® duction must be claimed prior to the 10th of the month following. This means a 50$ savings on the water bills of many motels. For example, one motel of twenty-six units reported that the savings would have been approximately $25*50 for the last month* The Purchasing Committee, Tom Franklin, has been successful in obtaining wholesale prices on many items, A list will be furnished to all members soon* Ye King*s Rest Motel savede $3^6,00 on two purchases thru the Association* Monterey Lodge saved $^8,50 on one purchase. You can save also by calling Franklin at 3500, Is it any wonder the enthusiasm for the organ® ization is growing by leaps and bounds? The hotels have re® alized these benefits for several years and they have a strong organization that lobbies and fronts every issue that will affect them individually or as a group. one of the resoPrlta nheo tealrse ntoo w gebte inbge tmtaedre acfqoru aai ntdeidnn earn dp ahravtey asto me fun.
