(COPY) MINUTES OF MEETING OF COMMITTEE SELECTED TO .CONSIDER QUESTION OF RAILROAD COMPANY OBTAINING ITS SUPPLY OF WATER FOR RAILROAD FACILITIES AT LAS VEGAS, NEVADA, BY USING SHOP WELL. This committee met at Las Vegas, Nevada, March 4th, 1952 with the following present: A. Bybee, Assistant Superintendent, Las Vegas, Nevada Calvin Cory, General Attorney, Las Vegas, Nevada P. G. Martin, Division Engineer, Los Angeles L. W. Ashton, Bridge L. R. Maag, Asst. In dIunsstpreicatlo rE,n giOnmeaehra, Los Angeles J. M. Anderson, General Water Service Foreman, Los Angeles R. L. Adamson, Industrial Engineer, Los Angeles J. O’Bryan, District Foreman, Mechanical Dept., Las Vegas A. J. Scott, Plant Manager, PFE Company, Las Vegas 1. Mr. Calvin Cory will investigate the questionas to whether the LA&SL Railroad Company has a vested right in the 2.5 CFS in Well No. 1 in the water field, and therefore could require transfer of such water right to a new location. In any event, committee is of the opinion that effort should be made to transfer entire 2*5 CFS to shop well, and does not feel that Railroad Company should relinquish any of its water rights. 2. Committee proposes to start work as quickly as possible in cleaning out shop well and increasing its flow. It is our opinion that well, when pumped steadily, particularly in summer season, will produce only ISO GPM in its present condition. Committee further believes that railroad facilities, including the railroad rooming house and PFE, will require a production of approximately 220 GPM. Therefore, we will recondition this well so as to definitely determine amount of production which can be obtained from it. In event PFE obtains its water from the LVL&W or the Las Vegas Valley Water District, then the amount of water required to serve railroad facilities, including rooming house, is approximately 157 GPM. These figures exclude requirements for all industries now served by Railroad Company. After reconditioning and test of shop well, layout and facilities rdquired will be determined and estimate of cost prepared, and further report made.
