BY-LAWS
ARTICLE I MEMBERSHIP
The membership of Theta Theta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. shall consist of women whose status shall wet the requirements of the national body as laid down by the Constitution of the Boule. Transfers into the chapter shall be in accord with the Constitution of the Boule.
ARTICLE II MEETINGS
Section 1
Regular chapter seetings shall be held each month from January through December excepting July and August at a time agreed upon by chapter members. Meetings shall be held at a place chosen by the hostess soror or sorors. Hostesses will be as indicated on the approved schedule.
Section 2
A quorum shall consist of half of the active membership.
•ARTICLE III OFFICERS /ND THEIR ELECTIONS
Section 1
The elective officers of Theta Theta Omega Chapter shall consist of Basileus, AntiBas ileus , Gramateus, Anti-Gramsateus, Pecunious Grammateus, Tamiochus, Epistoleus, Ivy-Leaf Reporter, Hodegos, Philacter, Parliamentarian, and Graduate Advisor.
Section 2
Elections shall be held annually with the Basileus, Grammateus, Pecunious Grammateus, Epistoleus, Ivy-Leaf Reporter, Hodegos, and one Executive Comaittee Member-at-Large being elected in even numbered years and the Anti-Basileus, Mti-GraWsateus, Tamiochus, Philacter, Parliamentarian, Graduate Advisor and one Executive Cossaittee Mezfoer-at- Large being elected in odd numbered years. Names of possible candidates for these offices shall be submitted to the chapter at the October reeling. Nominations from the floor shall be made at the October meeting following the Nominating Comittee’s report. Voting for officers shall be by secret ballot at the regular meeting in November with installation taking place at the regular meetirg in December. Officers shall begin their terms of office at the regular meeting in January.

ARTICLE IV COMMITTEES
Section 1 - Executive Committee and Duties
The Executive Committee shall consist of the Sasileus, Anti-Sasileus, Grammateus, Pecunious Grammateus, Tamiochus, Epistoleus, Ivy-Leaf Reporter, Parliamentarian,’ and two Members-at-Large elected by the chapter. The Members-at-Large represent the general membership and cooperate in every way to serve the interests of the total membership. The Basileus shall be the chairman.
The Executive Committee shall meet prior to each regular meeting and during July and August and act in cases of emergency. A quorum shall consist of five (5) members.
The Executive Committee shall consider committee reports and make recommendations concerning them; review and summarize correspondence to the chapter; help with the preparation of the agenda for the regular monthly meeting; and be responsible for streamlining operation of the meeting.
Section 2 - Standing Committees and Duties
Each committee chairman shall be responsible for keepin; a record of the minutes of each meeting and submitting the final committee reports in writing to the chapter for consideration.
By-Laws Committee: shall propose needed changes in the ly-Laws, carefully examine all proposed amendments from other approved sources, anc formulate same for circularization. The Parliamentarian shall be the chairman
Budget tz Finance: shall make an annual budget for the chapter considering the normal expenses incurred by the chapter to be presented it the November meeting. The Tamiochus shall chair the committee; the Pecunious Ciammateus shall also serve.
Program: shall prepare the general program for the year md present it at the regular October meeting. The committee shall have the responsibility for execution of the program in cooperation with established comrittees. The Anti-Basileus shall chair the committee.
Nominating: shall consist of one soror for each five act.ve sorors at the time of election to be elected by the membership. The Basileusshall appoint the chairman from among those elected to the committee. Sorors who hid elected offices other than Members-at-Large are ineligible. Candidates for th incoming committee shall be identified by the outgoing committee (a soror must cusent in advance to serve). Nominees’ names shall be placed on the regular ballot aid voted upon at the November meeting.
The Nominating Committee shall present a slate of candiates. for each office outlined in the chapter By-Laws at the regular October mee Ing; prepare and present the ballot for voting at the regular November meeting.
The Nominating Committee shall submit at the regular mothly meeting candidates and alternates for election as delegates to Regional Coference and/or Boule three months prior to the date of said meetings. One cndidate should be an officer, preferably the Basileus.
Standards: will follow a plan of evaluation for the chapter's total program set by the national Standards Committee.
Membership: shall monitor membership status and trends and recommend strategies for recruitment, retention, and reactivation of members.
The Membership Committee shall also plan in the welcoming of new members, transferres, and reinstated sorors; work cooperatively with the Hospitality Committee in welcoming transferres and visiting sorors; ?
Section 3 - Special Committees and Duties
Each committee chairman shall be responsible for keeping a record Of the minutes of each meeting and submitting the committee final reports in writing to the chapter for consideration.
Auditing: shall be responsible for auditing the books of the Tamiochus annually and submitting a written report after the audit. The committee shall be composed of not fewer than three (3) members excluding the Basileus, Tamiochus, Grammateus, and Pecunious Grammateus. The Basileus shall appoint the chairman.
Founders Day: shall be responsible ^developing, proposing, and coordinating all fund- raising activities.
Hospitality: shall receive and introduce all visitors; purchase gifts, flowers, cards,.etc. as necessary and customary in various chapter courtesies. The Hospitality Committee shall . assist hostess spror or sorors when needed. The Hodegos shall be chairman.
Publicity: shall secure news and pictures for publication in local papers and the national magazines - The Ivy Leaf. This committee shall also secure and compile clippings of chapter activities and events and maintain the chapter scrapbook. This committee shall promote and publicize activities of the chapter where no Publicity Committee has been designated. Reporter shall be chairman.
Scholarship: shall contact the various high school7,counselors or other appropriate personnel to promote the Scholarship Program and solicit prospective award recipients. Further, the committee shall contact the award prospects, receive; inspect, and approve applications and transcripts and submit committee recommendations to the chapter. This committee shall perform all other duties necessary to successfully carry out the Scholarship Awards Program.
Tellers: shall tally and report woting results for all elections conducted by secret ballot
Section 4 - Ad-Hoc Committees
Ad-Hoc Committees shall be appointed at the discretion of the Basileusias necessary to carry out chapter activities not provided for under Standing or Special Committees.
ARTICLE V DUES AND ASSESSMENTS
The amount of annual chapter dues and assessments, if any, shall be recommended by the Budget & Finance Committee and approved by the chapter. Dues payable on or before January 1 of each year are subject to a late fee of ten percent of the per capita if submitted to the Tamiochus after February L The amount of assessments, if any, are payable as designated by the chapter. Assessments which have been approved by the chapter shall be binding.
ARTICLE VI TRANSFERS
Transfers will be processed as designated in the national Constitution and By-Laws and the Manual of Standard Procedures.
A ARTICLE Vn AMENDMENT OF BY-LAWS
The By-Laws may be amended at anyregular meeting by a two-thirds vote of the active members present. All proposed changes to the By-lIws must be presented in writing at a regular meeting one month prior to voting and must be circulated to the active members at least two weeks before the time of voting. The By-Laws shall be automatically amended at any time they become in conflict with the National Constitution or By-Laws.
ARTICLE Vni AUTHORITY
Roberts Rule of Order Newly Revised 1990 Edition shall be used in the conduct of business where procedure is not stipulated in the Boule Constitution and By-Laws and the Manual Procedures or the chapter By-Laws.

INTERNAL CONTROL RECOMMENDATIONS
1.
All Cash Receipts of any sort should be deposit in tact daily.
2.
Deposit tickets should be made for all cash receipts.
3.
Cash Receipts register should be established to show the contributor, date of contribution, and the amount of the contr ibut ion.
4.
Bank reconciliation must be completed monthly.
5.
A voucher system should be established to handle all expenditures.
6.
No checks should be issued in advance of a voucher.
7.
No checks should be pre-signed without the amount, date, and payee completed.
8.
All checks must be written in sequence.
9.
Individual responsible for writing the checks must not do the bank reconciliation and keep the books.
10.
The individual responsible for the bank reconciliation and keeping the books must not be able to write checks.
11.
Minutes of all Board Meetings should be recorded timely.
12.
The Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority must hold an annual meeting and minutes must be recorded.
