    CALL OF SPECIAL MEETING To: Marjorie Holtschlag, City Clerk October 15, 1959 Las Vegas, Nevada A special meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada, is hereby called to he held in the Mayor's Office of the City Hall, on the 15th day of October, 1959, at the hour of 1:30 P.M. to consider the following matters: 1. PROPOSED LIONS CLUB PARK DEVELOPMENT BY THE SERVICE LEAGUE 2. URBAN RENEWAL; PROJECT "MADISON SCHOOL" 3. OCTOBER 21, 1959, REGULAR MEETING CHANGED TO OCTOBER 23, 1959. /s/ Oran K. Gragson ORAN K. Fountain Commissioner You and each of you will please take notice that pursuant to the above call of the Special Meeting this day issued, a Special Meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada, will be held as stated above. /s/ Marjorie Holtschlag City Clerk ACCEPTANCE OF NOTICE We, the undersigned Mayor, Commissioners, City Manager, Administrative Assistant of the City of Las Vegas do hereby admit due service of the foregoing notice of special meeting. /s/ Oran K. Fountain -0O0- MINUTES Las Vegas, Nevada October 15, 1959 (CALL OF SPECIAL MEETING) A Special meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada, held this 15th day of October, 1959; was called to order at the hour of 1:30 P.M. with the following members present: Mayor Oran K. Gragson City Manager A. H. Kennedy Commissioner William H. Elwell Adm. Assistant Robert D. Heath Commissioner E. W. Fountain Absent: Commissioner Sharp Absent: City Attorney Calvin Cory Commissioner Whipple (Attending Court on City Case) LIONS CLUB PARK At this time members of the Service League and the Lions Clubs met to discuss with the DEVELOPMENT Commission the proposed development by the Service League to be located on a designated PROPOSAL part of the Lions Club Park and to be known as the "Service League Park." Plans for the Lions Club Building for the Blind and the Art League's Gallery and Museum were also Referred to Engr. discussed. Attorney George Dickerson presented a proposed resolution from these groups Dept. outlining these proposals. Joe Mast of the Engineering Department presented a drawing of the Lions Club Park area which had been prepared in accordance with the proposed plans of these various agencies. Commissioner Elwell moved the proposed resolution presented on behalf of the Lions Club, the Service League and the Art League be received and referred to the Engineering Department with the instructions that final drawings covering the uses described in said resolution be presented to the Board of City Commissioners at their regular meeting to be held November 4, 1959. Motion seconded by Commissioner Fountain and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Elwell, Fountain and His Honor Mayor Gragson voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioners Sharp and Whipple. Commissioner Fountain added that copies of this final drawing should be sent to all the agencies concerned. 10-15-59
