OFFICE OF HE CITY CLERK CITY OF LAS VEGAS CLARK COUNTY, NEVADA. MARCH 7th, 1938 Minutes of a recessed regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas held on the 7th day of March, 1938 at the hour of three o'clock P.M. Present Mayor Pro Tem Marble, Commissioners Krause, Ronnow and Perry City Attorney and City Clerk Absent Mayor Arnett. All members of the newly appointed "Power Board except John Miller were present at this time and informed the Board that they would meet in the very near future and organize. C.D. Baker presented to the Board in writing the offer of J.W. Woodard for the sale of a number of acres of land adjoining the City gravel plant. Said price to be $1,200.00. To be paid as follows, $500.00 at time of signing of agreement and the balance of $700.00 within one year from the date there of. On motion of Commissioner Ronnow seconded by Commissioner Krause it was moved and carried the the City purchase this land at the price offered by Mr. Woodward. Vote Commissioners Krause Ronnow and Mayor Pro Tem Marble voting aye. Noes, none. V. Grey Gubler appeared before the Board of Commissioners and petitioned said Board to repeal or amend the City "Picketing Ordinance" so that same might correspond with the rulings handed down by Judge Wm. E. Orr of the Eighth Judicial Bistrict Court. On motion of Commissioner Ronnow seconded Krause it was moved and carried that said petition be handed to the City Attorney and that he be instructed to make a report to the Board of Commissioners in the near future. Vote Commissioners Krause, Ronnow and Perry and Mayor Pro Tem Marble voting aye. Noes, none. Members of the Milk Ordinance Committee were present at this time and presented a form of ordinance to the Board of Commissioners for its consideration. This Committee would con­sider this ordinance in the very neat future. An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE no. 162, OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE USE OF DEVICES OR APPARATUS WHICH INTERFERES WITH RADIO BROADCAST RECEPTION," was read to the Board for a 1st time and adopted upon the following vote being had: Commissioners Krause, Ronnow and Perry and Mayor Pro Tem Marble voting aye. Noes, none. here upon the Clerk was directed to have said ordinance published in the Las Vegas Evening Review Journal, a daily newspaper printed and published at Las Vegas. Said Ordinance to be known as Ordinance No. 231. An ordinance Entitled: "AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION IV OF ORDINANCE NO. 137 OF THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS ENTITLED: "AN ORDINANCE CREATING THE OFFICE OF CITY ELECTRICAL INSPECTOR, AND PRE­SCRIBING HIS DUTIES, CREATING AND ESTABLISHING THE BUREAU OF ELECTRICAL INSPECTION AND DEFINING THE DUTIES AND POWERS OF SAID BUREAU, PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF PERMITS FOR THE INSTALL­ING OF ELECTRICAL CONSTRUCTION, AND FIXING THE FEES THEREFOR: REGULATING THE INSTALLATION OF ELECTRICAL CONSTRUCTION, MAINTENANCE AND REPAIRS OF ELECTRICAL WIRING, APPARATUS, OR EQUIPMENT FOR LIGHT, HEAT, POWER, WITHIN, UPON OR ATTACHED TO BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES, LOTS OR PREMISES WITHIN THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS: AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION OF THIS ORDINANCE," AS AMENDED," was read to the Board for a first time and adopted by the following vote: Com­missioners Krause, Ronnow and Perry and the Mayor Pro Tem voting aye. Noes, none. Absent Mayor Arnett. Thereupon the City Clerk was directed to have said ordinance published in the Las Vegas Review Journal a daily newspaper printed and published in the City of Las Vegas for once a week for two consecutive weeks. Said Ordinance to be known as Ordinance No. 232. No further business appearing before the Board at this time the meeting recessed and adjourned until Wednesday the 9th day of March, 1938 at the hour of three o'clock P.M. OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK CITY OF LAS VEGAS, CLARK COUNTY, NEVADA. MARCH 9th, 1938. Minutes of a recessed regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas held on the 9th day of March, 1938 at the hour of three o'clock P.M. Roll call showed the following present Mayor Pro Tem Marble, Commissioners Krause and Ronnow, City Attorney and Clerk. Absent Mayor Arnett and Commissioner Perry. At this time it was brought to the attention of the Board of Commissioners that a meeting would be held in Reno Tuesday the 15th day of March at the hour eleven o'clock A.M. This meet­ing being called by the State Director WPA and all Mayors of cities in Nevada and the City Engin­eers and Chairman of the Boards of County Commissioners were ask to meet at this time to re­view the WPA appraisal reports of the various counties and cities of the State of Nevada with the aim in mind of whether or not the WPA should still function in the State as it has the last several years.
