    190. PIOCHE NEVADA,January 6th,1902. Mr. H.E.George, Dear Sir: L Vegas,Nev ad a . The let/uH/you wrote to me on Nov.29,came to hand this evening. you can put the amount due in, I wrote you about this, and I expect before this you have received my letter. I have got a settlement with the Hearst people, there is due $1950# I expect there will be a party out to see you to pay the money in a few days if they are not there already. They sent me a copy of the bond, and in my last letter to you I stated the payments which dad been made and when and where and to whom. You can close up all the business the next term. I dont know just when the term will be;but it will be very soon. I dont want it before the 29,of Feb.because the 3 months publication will not run out bsafore that time. V/e cannot do any thing before that runs out. I have written to the Judge and I will know in a few days just when the Court will sit. There is just $2616.70of claims in now without interest on the accounts. The claimants will undoubtedly be entitled to legal interest,7$per annum from the time the,or there accounts were stated. So you see, there will not be money enough to pay $ forf;bul all thee claimants will have to take a pro-rata,in accordance to the ^uaount due. The costs will first have to be paid. I don't think that claim from California is payable in this State, She was living in California when his estate was administered upon in that State, she then had an opportunity to put in her claim, perhaps she did. There was money there, the Administratrix got #200# from this State which ought to be here now. If this claimant was not vigulent and looked after her interest and let the time go by,in my judgment it is too late for her to come here now. You will undoubtedly here from the Hearst people in a short ©irae. Yours truly, / J // J ?wom PIOCHE NEVADA,January 1st,1908. My*S®apton e .Georg©, Loe Vegas,Lincoln County,Nevada, Boar'Sir; The Gent lesion, Messrs Page,MO cut chon,Harding & Knight,of San Francisco,Cal.attending to the matter for Mrs. Hoarat, relating to the Aaron Winters‘rotate, have written to me,to the effect, that they are ready and ruling to say the amount due to you as administrator of said estate, from the Hearet people, They have sent me a slapy of the bond, and it is jvat as It has to3 ,n ported to me,given 'for ^£500# There was fS30#i>aidto Winters at the time the bond, was executed; Hr. She was the Administratrix of the Estate in California, and that property the draft) was in that State,In the possession of Mr.Brora.nhe made a demand for it and it was paid-wherefore,it la clear to me that there has been paid by the Hearet people,of that *2500#*58 0#whloh leavee a balance due to the Winters aatate-Sl9S0iF,*hloh sum they have agreed with me to pay to you at l o b Vegas,In the near future, upon you giving them suoh a receipt as i f l l c a S S ' a n d say . - . - nothing to any one a ^ they d &y II& wti&’fc money tlieire <xv®*8.nci Sa^ate ia in a oOTditlSn to be closed up at any time. We will have a ? e m of CoJrt he?e I am oertain.in O b n w r . V c 1 1 1 close noth of the estates you are interested in up at that time. k 190. PIOOHE NEVADA,January 26,1902. Mr. Hampton E. George Los Vegas,Nevada. Dear Sir: I received a few days ago notice from San Francisco that the Hearst people had started out on the 15,of th$5 month a party to Los- Vegas with #1950# to pay to you as the Administrator of the Winters Estate. That is all the money there is due from them. I have not heard from that man in Manvel, although he has had plenty of time to answer my letter. I dont expect he will answer. If you see any one going to Manvel, just authortze them to call upon him and then we will hear what he has to say about it. It does not pay to incur any great expense in trying to collect it;but for a starter,I would like to get an expression from him, just to see what claim he has for selling the mules and other property. Now,my work is about done, that is the important part of it. All there is to do now is to draw the several papers and close up the two estates We are in great luck, in being able to close up the business with the Hearst people as we£did. I was afraid that we was going to have agreat deal of expense and trouble to get that money. For that reason I wrote to those people and stated the law as I knew it was,and If they were law yers I knew they knew it too,and I always believed that ih face of the facts as they stood, they wtimld not attempt to fight us,and I guessed them right. I am now very much in need of some money. My patent leg in entirely worn out,and it is punishing me every day,in fact I can hardly get around. You have t&e money now,and I ask you if you will send me up $10o/** that is just what my leg will cost. It will be a great benefit to me. If I have to wait until the term of Court,I will not be able to get around. I had to go the the blacksmith shop and get the smith to fix me Up so that I can get along so as to be around, but you have no idea how much it is punishing me. Please answer this letter immediately and be sure and send me the money, because it id imposible for me to get around the way I am now. m Return after Ten Days to Renj.
