The district board has requested $25,000 from the county f board, it was reported today by j Harry E. Miller, chairman, and l the commissioners have request- f ed a ruling from the attorney general regarding the legality of f any such payment. To date no answer to the request has been received. The county board, it was reported, has received num- ; grous complaints that the ad-' vance of funds to the water district by former boards is illegal ' and, until a ruling is received b o m the attorney general, do pot plan to take any action on the water district’s request. Meantime, the grand jury was reported to have become inter-ested in the finances of the water j district, summoning the chair- [ man and the secretary of the i 1 district before them this morn- j Ing to secure Information re- , garding a $600 fee which was Jaid District Attorney Robert E. j ones for services rendered to tiie commission.
