Commissioner Fountain stated he though His Honor, Mayor Gragson, should send letters of Commendation to Officer Ocie Pigford and Officer Francis Macauley for their fine work in apprehending Richard Eugene Hickock and Perry Edward Smith, who were wanted by the Kansas Authorities in connection with a murder. Police Chief Sheffer informed the Commission this had already been done. An Ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION IV OF ORDINANCE NO. 378, REFERRED TO AS SECTION 10, CHAPTER 24, CODE OF IAS VEGAS, NEVADA, 1949, BY AMENDING THE LAND USE PLAN MAP ADOPTED BY THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS, AND CHANGING THE ZONING DESIGNATION OF CERTAIN AREAS OF THE SAID MAP was read by title and reported on favorably by Commissioners Elwell and Fountain, committee for recommendation. Commissioner Fountain moved the above-entitled Ordinance No. 819 be adopted. Motion seconded by Commissioner Elwell and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Elwell, Fountain, Sharp and His Honor, Mayor Gragson, voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Commissioner Whipple. Additional time was requested for the proposed Plumbing Code Ordinance, which was introduced and read by title at the regular meeting of the Board of City Commissioners held November 18, 1959, and referred to Commissioners Fountain and Sharp, committee for recommendation. An Ordinance entitled: AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 521 AND ORDINANCE NO. 736, DEALING WITH THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A PUBLIC POUND IN THE CITY OF LAS VEGAS; PROVIDING FOR FEES FOR SERVICES PERFORMED BY THE POUNDKEEPER; PROVIDING FOR STORAGE AND PICKUP OF DEAD ANIMALS; PROVIDING FOR COPULATING DOGS; PROVIDING FOR THE POUND MASTER TO ISSUE CITATIONS; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH was read by title and reported on favorably by Commissioners Fountain and Sharp, committee for recommendation. Commissioner Sharp moved the above-entitled Ordinance No. 820 be adopted.
