A special meeting of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Las Vegas, Nevada held this 23rd day of April, 1954, was called to order at the hour of 10:00 A.M. by His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple with the following members present: Mayor Pro Tem Reed Whipple Commissioner Wendell Bunker Commissioner Rex A. Jarrett Commissioner Harris P. Sharp City Attorney Howard W. Cannon Asst. City Mgr. Robert W. Notti City Engineer George Wade Deputy City Clerk Grace Valenziano Absent: Mayor C. D. Baker City Manager George Rounthwaite City Clerk Shirley Ballinger Commissioner Jarrett moved the applicant having otherwise adequately provided for off-street parking and loading, the Building Department be authorized to allow the construction to proceed at 230 South 5th Street, in accordance with the Building Permit issued. Motion seconded by Commissioner Bunker and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Sharp passed his vote. Absent: Mayor Baker. Jones, Wiener and Jones agreed to furnish the lease for twenty-five years on property in the immediate area for the purpose of off-street parking and loading. Commissioner Sharp moved that sub-paragraph (c) of Paragraph H of Section 12 of Chapter 24 concerning provision for storage or parking of automobiles be deleted from the Code. Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote: Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Sharp and His Honor Mayor Pro Tem Whipple voting aye; noes, none. Absent: Mayor Baker. There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting adjourned.
