Las Vegas - August 18, 1953 Mr. H. H. Snodgrass - Las Vegas Referring to the matter of a leak in service line which occurred this day and which resulted in & thin layer of water on the floor of the Hl&ine Furniture Store located at 2222 Seat Charleston Boulevard, Las Vegas, Hev&da, I submit the following date which is based on beat information available: 1. Police Department called Mr, Doyle about leak in water pipe between h and | A.M, 2. Superintendent Doyle checked the location of leak and found water coming out of curb stop box at 1937 Payton Street, 3. Mr. Doyle then called service crew which arrived at Job and started work of repairing leak between 6 and 7 o'clock. h. Leak was stopped approximately at 8 A.M, and Job was completed at 9 A.M. Between 8 A.M, and 9 A.M. some water continued to flow from the site of the leak in city gutters due to the fact that the site of the leak was approximately three blocks from the furniture store mentioned above and at a higher elevation. 5 . fhe water from leak flowed down the city gutters and spread out on the ground adjacent to the furniture store and It appeared from inspection that the water leaked through the building walls and did not enter through the door way of the building which is a cinder block building. 6. the furniture company building is located in a low area adjacent to Eastern Avenue and the drainage of the street is such that apparently none of the water ever reached
