Knight's work on this new extravaganza began early this year when he was engaged by producer Frank Sennes and director Donn Arden as art director for the entire show, which was conceived by Pierre Louis-Guerin and Rene Fraday. Knight began his design career in England, where he was engaged to do the drawings for many of the massive sets used in the movie "Cleopatra." Working with noted designer Sean Kenny on London's biggest theatre epoch, "Blitz," Knight created many revolutionary scenic effects. During Knight's four years as assistant to Kenny, he began to incorporate into his scope of expertise many elaborate design techniques which could be put to best advantage in large- scale stage productions. Recognized as one of the finest set designers in the world, Knight has been involved for nearly 10 years in designing many of the lavish sets used in both the Stardust and the Paris versions of the Lido. He has also done major film and stage presentations, along with two large revue productions in Beirut, Lebanon. Knight, as art director for the entire Stardust production, personally designed three of the spectacular production numbers for the new show, while supervising Parisian designers Raymond Fost and George Wakhevitch in creating two other magnificent sets. -29-
