Mr. W. R. Rouse 2. March 19, 1953 P.S. I think it is very important that Mr. Cory be authorized to immediately file an application to transfer the water appropriation to the shop well because it is uncertain that we shall be able to secure approval of a transfer of more than the production of that well. We should know what the State Engineer will authorize before the sale agreement is executed and delivered so that we can make some arrangement with the District to permit a portion of the existing appropriation to remain on Well No. 1 until our second well is drilled. I do not believe there is any way in which the appropriation can remain up in the air. It will either have to remain attached to the existing well or be transferred to some other source of production. If we could only secure a transfer of a portion of the appropriation, we might be able to have the District take the land subject to the remainder of the appropriation for a short time to permit of drilling of a second well after the sale. Mr* Reinhardt does not want to drill another well in the shop grounds because of the stand we have taken that additional wells in the water field would not produce additional water. E, E. B.
