$ $ *“? % Los Angeles - August 11, 1952 1-733** Mr. E. E. Bennett - Referring to your letter dated July 3l,~l952, file 80-12, attaching letter and enclosure referred to therein from Mr. Cory dated July 28th relative to Union Pacific shop well at Las Vegas. In view of existing conditions at Las Vegas as outlined in 2nd paragraph of your letter, I concur with your recommendations that we do not take any steps at this time in connection with transferring 2.5 c.f.s. appropriation from Well No. 1 to the shop well on the basis that we will wait until our negotiations with the Lfflb&W District have progressed which shows certain data in connection with our wells No. 1 to 11 Inclusive &aa the Union Pacific field on railroad company property at Las Vegas, Nevada. lou will note that the LVL&W Company ha<J>an appropriation of 4.18 c.f.s. and the LA&SLRRCo, 2.5 c.f.s. When this well was first brought in and had settled down to a steady flow, it flowed about 9 c.f.s. (or 4050 g.p.m.) and continued flowing at that rate for several years. In January of 1952 it flowed at the rate of 1035 g.p.m. or approximately 2.3 c.f.s. of amounts of appropriations by the two companies and the transferring of appropriation from Well No. 1 to the shop well. Mr. Cory^ letter of July 28th and attachment thereto are returned herewith. further. I attach hereto a statement dated February 28, 1952, I would like to discuss further with you this question R. L.
