I was okay when I started to work here. 4. I understand that when you went to California around Christmas that you hired out as a hod oarrler. A. Hot as a hod oarrler - a plasterer's helper. Q. Did you take an examination for that employment? A. Ho. It was a meat paoklng house - a meat oompany. Q. I understand that you also want to the dootor while you were In California. A. To the hospital. Hy wife took me - I didn't want to go. a. What were their findings? A. They said it was a hernia or a bowel rupture. They said they oouldn't do anything beoause I wasn't a resident <f the state. a. Just what did Dr. Demman tell you after he found the rupture? A. Be didn't tell me muoh. He said I would have to have It taken oare of. I said It didn't start bothering me until I started working for the Water Company, and he phoned Hr. Davis and told me to wait. a. After you waited what did he tell you? A. He told me he talked to Hr. Davie and I should go over and see him - that I might have a Job back. a. When you were digging and got tired and you were told to go see the dootor, what did he say? A. He wasn't for sure - he skid I had a hernia or there was something else It might be.
