The Union Paeifle and the Water Company stated that there wasn’t any water available and that we had to get by with what they had there, and that they were negotiating with the las Vegas Water District to sell out their water holdings. Since that time, the Water District has attempted to form their organisation and set up an organisation whereby they can buy out the Water Company but their procedure is very slow; in fact, with this war situation, it will be much slower than anticipated at that time. As far as I knew—I am not a hydraulic engineer—these are ay own ©pinions, there has been nothing done by the Water Company er the Union Pacific Railroad Company to increase, augment or engineer their water production facilities. They have improved their distribu- tlen system, which has helped, but as far as I know, they haven’t done anything to get more water. We find by asking questions, m additional wells have been drilled! no new equipment has been installed! no reservoirs have been constructed. They have been trying to get by with the same amount of water for the past ten years coming up from those wells, w© found this summer that we had a mere critical situation than we had last summer.
