I agree.July 12, 1966 Dear Andy, It was nice talking to you on the phone today and I hope we can see you again real soon* In regard to the Sands International Bridge Tournament, here are the salient points: 1* lie will conduct tiie First Sands International Bridge Tournament October 9 ?╟≤ 12, 1966, with Bridge Authority Alfred She inwold as Tournament Judge* 2. lie will offer $20,000 guaranteed cash prises; $17,000 for the Main Tournament and $3,000 for the "Second Chance" Tournament. 3. We will transport somewhere between four and eight teams of bridge experts from foreign countries to lend the game tone excitement, and hope to draw at least 500 players and "buffs"# It was our thought that perhaps the 0* S. Playing Card Company might like to participate with the Sands on this Tournament, and as we tried to pinpoint on the plume, I would like to request that you help take care of some of the printing expenses, perhaps $2500* You know I will give you all the promotion I can and I believe everybody here would be happy to see you work with us again* This will be a guaranteed cash prise contest and not sub- ject to the number of entries, so that you know we intend to give it all we have.
