s Los Angeles, February 14, 1960 7534 Hr* A*. E. Stoddard* - (CC - Mr. P, J. Lynch Mr. W. C, Perkins} Referring to your letter of February 10th, file 355-2, to Mr. Lynch, concerning LA&SL Work Order Authority for constructing 1620 ft, of 12” eater line from Well Wo. 8 to Settling Basin serving Charleston Boulevard Las Vegas t Reservoir, jj :?! /Early in 1945, in making recommendation for additional eater facilities at Las Vegas, es proposed construction of a 2-1/3 million gallon reservoir and the diver- f sion of eater from Well Ho* 8 to the new facility. Under A, F, E. Ho, 61 (1945 series), capacity of the reservoir eas reduced to 1-1/2 million gallons, in vice of which it eas deemed advisable to continue delivery of eater from Well No, 8 to the old reservoir, and the line from Well 8 to the nee reservoir eas not constructed. Wells 9, 10 and 11 do not furnish sufficient eater to meet demand during peak periods, and in an emergency such as fire, thus eater supply in southerly part of the city would be inadequate. Construction of the proposed line will permit temporary diversion of the floe from Well Ho. 8 to the Charleston Blvd, facility during peak demand periods or in an emergency. Wm. Reinhardt .
