228 solicitors LICENSE Bond Requirement TAXI APPLICATIONS Renewal U-Drives MATTERS RELATING THERETO; AND REPEALING ORDINANCE 391 AND ALL OTHER ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH," BY CHANGING THE AGE REQUIREMENTS AND PROVIDING FOR EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS OF APPLICANTS FOR THE POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENTS OF THE CITY; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; was read by title and referred to Commissioners Bunker & Jarrett for recommendation. At this time the letter from Mr. Ben Leving, applicant for a Solicitors License regarding his ability to secure the bond required by Ordinance No. 369 in order to secure such license, was considered by the Board. Commissioner Bunker moved this matter be referred to the Commissioners’ Insurance Committee namely Commissioners Peccole and Jarrett for recommendation. Motion seconded by Commissioner Whipple and carried by the following vote; Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Whipple moved the following applications for renewal of Taxi Licenses for the first quarter of 1953 be approved: BOULDER CAB CO. Lee Speirs, Owner 5 Taxis YELLOW CAB CO. Fat Carver, Mgr. 17 Taxis UNION CAB CO. Lee Speirs, Mgr. 3 Taxis Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote; Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Commissioner Bunker moved the following applications for license for U-Drive vehicles for the first quarter of 1953 be approved. ARROWHEAD U-DRIVE CORP. O.S. Ward, Agent 3 Renewals 3 Additionals Hertz Drive Ur Self W. Gwilliam 8 Renewals 2 Additionals Motion seconded by Commissioner Jarrett and carried by the following vote; Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none. Addn’l Taxis Commissioner Bunker moved the application of Pat Carver, Manager of Yellow Cab Company for license for four additional taxicabs for the first quarter of 1953 be held in abeyance until February 4 , 1953. Motion seconded by Commissioner Peccole and carried by the following vote; Commissioners Bunker, Jarrett, Peccole, Whipple and His Honor voting aye; noes, none.
