Plans Moving Toward Climax I Estimates on the cost of construction of the 24-incli pipe line! from Henderson to Las Vegas,! together with the storage and! pipe-line facilities in town, arej now being prepared for consider- \ ation by the board of directors ! of the Las Vegas Valley district, ! according.to Thomas A. Camp-; bell -chairman. These figures, together with the purchase price of the Las Vegas Land and Water company, will determine the amount of the bond issue to be presented for approval at the special election, to be lield sometime after January 1, 1951, and which will permit early construction to get; under way on the project, -Campbell said. The board yesterday retained the firm of O’ Melveny 1 and Myers of Los Angeles, as consultants on the bond issue -and their representatives will work closely with the water district officials in preparing the various steps which must meet the approval of the eventual purchasers of the issue which will, run into several million dollars and probably will be the largest single public bond issue ever' floated in the state of Nevada. Campbell said the inventory of the ..water company had been practically completed and that it was the boards hope to have a final answer, from the utility within the next few days. ?o-
